💥💥💥💥💥PARENTS💥💥💥💥 Saw this online and wondered if a anyone was interested in something similar...we have the property to set up gardens, some already started, we have chooks too. Happy to chat and discuss if interested 😀 There is a group of parents that live in a small community near me Who have organized a 1 room school house kind of scenario. They have 45 ish kids in the daytime ( grades 1-8) ...plus teens ( maybe 20 ish) ⭐️They host school 4 days a week... 3 days are school days, Day 4 is a sports day, and movieday. ⭐️A local farmer has given the school group space to keep a community garden, And they use the community hall kitchen to teach food studies, ⭐️Food studdies provides a mid day snack for kids ⭐️Fall allows for harvest, learning canning and preserves to provide snack options for the future school term ⭐️The teens are managing the garden and leading games on sports day, they have the parents who rotate weekly as teachers, teens get to tutor the young ones... ( based on skill sets/ natural giftings and talents ⭐️when they have day 4 movie night, the shifts of parents meet to pass the next weeks duties to the next group of parents... ⭐️Dads are taking small groups on the weekends to teach basic car maintenance, carpentry, electrical welding, plumbing and bike repair.. ⭐️The older kids assist young ones. ⭐️The older students also take care of end of daycleanup , sweeping mopping garbage removal, recycling, and bathroom cleaning… and making sure kids are signed in and out at the start and end of each day ⭐️ Teens are encouraged to pursue self study in two ares they are passionate about/ or talented/skilled in ( what lights them up, and what would serve humanity in a co creative or service oriented way. ⭐️They are having the kids build picnic tables for outdoor school and a shed for sports equip. ⭐️The kids pay $2/day to attend and that goes to hall rental and supplies for food studies ( plus food donations are given ) ( for example kids grade 1-8 pay 👇🏻👇🏻) 45x2 is $90 day...when normally the hall sat empty making no money... $90x4= 360./ week. 360x 4 weeks, =$1640/month...this pays for movie snacks at the end of the school week as well. (And extras as needed) ⭐️Teens also pay $5/ day ( grade 9-12) ⭐️Kids all pack lunches for school. And all families donated kleenex and craft supplies ⭐️Kids maintain yard work for class disruption, or redirection of blowing off steam.... ( outdoor quiet time with guided encouragement )
